20 weeks

Hello 20 weeks!  Halfway there!  I cannot believe it.

This week has gone by quickly and well.  I have had a few nights of insomnia but that will come from time to time with pregnancy.  I get pretty uncomfortable at night.  I am a stomach sleeper so I think that is really bothering me.  I get as close to sleeping on my stomach as bug will tolerate but s/he's very opinionated and will kick/punch my organs until I move.

No new cravings of the week.  I finished off my jar of grape jelly.  Took me less than 2 weeks to finish up a jar.  That's when you know you are craving something!  I'm still "wearing" my  normal pants although I think I will have to give them up soon.  I can't button or zip them at all and it's getting a bit tight around my rear end.  Bummer.  All my maternity pants are too big still so I'm glad it's getting warmer out I can wear my dresses soon.

We had our ultrasound today!  I forgot how amazing it is to see your little baby on the screen.  Sure, s/he looks like an alien but still somehow so cute.  I already knew this from feeling the little bug but s/he is so, so, so active!  The baby was all over the place!  Didn't let us get one good picture of him/her.  And bug shared his/her opinion to the doctor several times when he pressed down too hard and bug didn't like it.  The doctor even felt his good hard kicks!  Did I tell you that Max has felt the baby from the outside?  I couldn't believe it.  It was on Monday night so not quite 20 weeks and Max can feel him/her.  Strong baby.  Anyway, healthy healthy baby.  Measuring 9 days ahead of schedule so that would put the due date at 7/23 (the day after my birthday) but since you have to be 10 days off the due date didn't officially change.  I just know the baby will come on my birthday.  I do.  The doctor definitely said he saw the gender of the baby but he was very good about not letting any hints out which is exactly how we prefer it.  Max and I like to wait until we have the baby in our arms.

My weekly email says that bug is 10 inches long from head to foot (about the size of a banana) and that I should expect to gain about a pound a week from here on out.  Yikes.  I just hope I don't gain 60 pounds like I did with Dexter!
